Adding newness to the old is a noble act.
Dear Taeho,
I really love this photo of us.It feels even more special when we’re holding hands.
There’s something about standing next to you—a young boy just beginning to explore the world with wonder—that makes this old grandfather feel deeply moved.

Why do we grow old, I wonder?
It’s not just about growing weak or frail.Time doesn't only give us wrinkles or pain—it also gives us depth and emptiness.
And sometimes, you have to empty yourselfto fill up with something stronger.
A new set is always being built in this old studio

At first, it’s full of people rushing around. Then one day, everything gets torn down by forklifts, and we sweep away the dust with brooms.
We build something new, only to take it apart again. It’s what we do.
Here, we learn to create and to let go, over and over again.
But oddly enough, some things never change.

Like the old lights overhead. The worn-out leather chair in the corner. And people like me.
The sets may change, the stories may pass, but some of us stay behind—holding the space, holding the memory. We are the ones who don’t change easily, even when everything else does.
You see, everyone eventually learns to lose something.

Our strength. The people we love. The chances we missed.
But maybe becoming an adult means learning to embrace those losses. And once we do, we find the strength to build again.
The world has changed so much.

It’s getting harder to see children like you, and older folks like me are hidden.
But even old hands can still make things. And when we work together—young and old—we can make something beautiful.
Here at the set studio, even as we age, we continue to build something new.
The older we get, the more we want to share,to leave behind something meaningful,
to create together.
That’s why I haven’t left this place.Not yet.
Today, I finally got around to fixing up part of the studio.

I built a wooden wall and painted it.Bought some second-hand props from a neighbor.
This place is still old.But how we look at it makes all the difference. It can feel new again—if we let it.
Of course, new things are wonderful—shiny and clean and effortless.

That’s what people want these days. It’s why our company still gets work.
But old things…they have their own quiet worth.
When someone like you uses them with care, they shine even more brightly and will comfort you.

So don’t be too hard on your old Grandpa just because I’ve aged, okay?
I love you.And I’m always waiting to hear your stories.
From Grandpa,
